MESSAGE FROM THE PARADE CHAIRMAN

In few places do the past and present converge as vividly as they do in Woodland? With its origins as an agricultural community traced back to the early 1850’s and to its incorporation in 1871, Woodland has a strong historic heritage which is reflected in an impressive stock of historic buildings in its downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods. Now, with the 52nd anniversary of the city’s Holiday Parade, Woodland is celebrating not only the future but ties that bind prior generations to today’s community, and to honor the legacies of those who forged the city’s reputation for agriculture, business, warm hospitality and an enduring pioneer spirit.

The parade always presents a festive opportunity to bring people together from through-out Northern California and it’s a great way to kick off the holiday season. This is an amazing milestone for our community, especially when viewed from the standpoint of the demise of many parades in our state and the country over the past years. So we hope you can join us for this special celebration and for future parades to help us continue this great tradition!
